A tour of the app

Five minutes here saves you hunting later. The app is one sidebar and one topbar, and the topbar carries your copier's controls on every page. Everything else hangs off those two.

The sidebar

Once your plan is active, pages are grouped by what they're for:

  • TRADE: the daily drivers. Overview is your start screen: the three setup steps (choose your plan, connect your broker, choose your leader account), each with a link to the page that does it and a tick once it's done, then your Weekly Review card (once the Weekly Review is switched on) and a row of links to help, contact and the legal pages. Trade Desk holds one tab per copy group with its accounts, their positions and P&L, per-position close, cancelling working orders, the order history, and your copy rules under Manage rules.
  • TRADE SETTINGS: things you configure, then mostly leave alone. Accounts (broker connections and their discovered accounts) and Risk Management (the live risk monitor, daily loss limits, profit targets, locks, order expiry, the optional confirmations, and quick switches for e-mail and Telegram alerts).
  • RESOURCES: analysis, not controls. Journal, with its sub-pages: Dashboard, Trades, Daily, Weekly, Strategy, and Manage Data, plus Weekly Review right under Dashboard once the Weekly Review is switched on (it is not switched on yet). Then Economic Calendar and Educators & Creators. This section starts open. Click the RESOURCES heading to fold it away on a trading day, and click it again to bring it back. The app remembers which way you left it.
  • At the bottom, under a thin rule: Affiliate and Settings. A small plan chip under them names your plan and says how many copy groups it includes; click it to manage your plan.

Until your plan is active, the sidebar holds only Overview, and its first step is where you choose a plan. Everything above appears the moment the plan is active, including your own copier: every account runs its own, and nothing another customer does can stop or flatten yours.

Two things fold: Journal starts folded (click it to show or hide its sub-pages) and RESOURCES starts open. A chevron points right when something is folded shut and down when it is open. If you open a page that lives inside a folded section, the section opens itself so you can always see where you are. On a narrower screen, roughly tablet width, the sidebar shrinks to a strip of icons by itself (hover any icon for its name), with every section shown.

The topbar

Left to right:

  • Engine pill shows your copier's state from any page: Stopped, Starting, Copying, Reconnecting, Stopping, or Error: green while copying, amber while the kill switch is armed after Flatten all (it still reads Copying), and amber Stopped when something other than your own Stop ended the session (the broker signed the login out, or MirrorFill support stopped your copier). Point at Reconnecting to see which login dropped. While copying, a thin green line also runs under the topbar.
  • Copier controls, right beside the pill: only the button that applies right now, a divider, and Flatten all. More on them below.
  • Open-positions chip appears whenever anything is open, on every page except the Trade Desk (which lists every position): a count plus up to three contract symbols, for example 2 OPEN · ESZ6, MESZ6, so a forgotten position is visible from every page on a wider screen. A phone's top bar drops it.
  • Market clock: Chicago time and the CME Globex equity session in plain words, HH:MM CT · CME open or HH:MM CT · CME closed. Globex opens Sunday 17:00 CT, closes Friday 16:00 CT, and halts for maintenance 16:00-17:00 CT Monday through Thursday. When it says CME closed, no fill is coming.
  • Notifications bell opens the Notifications panel, which slides in from the right edge of the screen (full screen on a phone). It keeps recent connection events (a drop, a reconnect, a login signed in elsewhere), Flatten all, rejected orders and errors; with nothing to show it says "You have no new notifications." Fills and risk alerts never reach it: risk alerts arrive as messages (toasts) at the top right, and fills do too if you switch fill toasts on in Settings → Notifications.
  • Theme toggle: a quick light/dark flip (in the avatar menu on a phone). The three-way choice (system, light, dark) lives in Settings under Appearance.
  • Your avatar menu: your account, Settings, Help center (these articles, in a new tab), and Sign out. The help center is also under Settings → About → Support.

The engine pill, the copier controls, the open-positions chip and the Notifications bell belong to your copier, so they appear once your plan is active; before that there is no copier for them to report on.

Pages without a headline of their own, like Settings or the Journal pages, show their name at the top of the page.

Table column headers explain themselves on the Trade Desk, on Risk Management and in the Accounts list: hover, focus or tap a header to see what that column means.

The copier controls

The copier controls sit in the topbar on every page, right after the engine pill. They show only the button that applies right now: Start copying while stopped, Stop while copying (with Resume copying beside it after Flatten all), then Flatten all after a divider. While a copy rule change is not saved yet, Start copying is dimmed and says so. On a phone the engine pill stays in the header on every page and the buttons move to a dock just above the tab bar: the Desk tab carries the full dock, Risk keeps Flatten all (plus Resume copying while copying is paused), and Accounts has none. Details in engine controls explained.

The Trade Desk

At the top of the Trade Desk, a banner says whether the copier is stopped (or, with the rules shown, copying). Under it, one tab per copy group names the group and its instrument (a dark dot marks a tab with a change you have not saved, an amber one a group with an account catching up or locked while copying runs, and an OFF chip a group with no leader, which copies nothing). + Add group always follows the tabs (greyed while copying runs, since groups change only while the copier is stopped), and when the tabs do not fit, an arrow on each side scrolls them. On the right sit, while copying runs, Pause all and a red Cancel orders, then Sort (Account or Connection), Manage rules, the List | Cards switch and the gear. When every follower is paused, Pause all reads Resume all, and then it shows even while the copier is stopped. The gear holds the desk settings: whether follower protection is on, a link to Blocked instruments (on Settings, Copier), Hide account numbers, and the table's column list (not on a phone).

Under the table (or the cards), a row of pills totals Day P&L, Open P&L, Total balance, Open positions and Last event. It is always there. While copying is stopped it shows zeros (Last event shows a dash, since a time has no zero), and Total balance adds up the last saved balances: "Last saved balances. Live balances show once copying starts." While copying, a P&L total says "N not reporting" beside it when some accounts did not report that figure; an account whose broker does not report P&L shows $0.00. If a Rithmic login's live P&L feed drops, an amber note says so and that login's P&L figures dim until it returns; copying is not affected.

A tab lists its group's leader first, then every account you have, whether or not it holds anything, with the accounts that copy this group's leader first. The Follow switch leads each row and means "this account copies this group's leader"; it applies at once. Each account's name carries its broker login on the line under it, and a Platform column shows the broker's logo and name (Rithmic, Tradovate or dxFeed). A Status column says Leader, Mirrored, Catching up, Locked, Not discovered, or Off for a row that does not copy in this group; while copying runs, a row the group holds but has switched off reads Paused in amber instead. An account whose broker login dropped reads Disconnected in red, with how long it has been down, for example Disconnected · 4m. A follower that is flat but should hold a position shows it in its position cell, for example Flat → 2, while it catches up. Sorted by Connection, each broker login gets a header row with a box that switches its accounts in this group on or off at once. Every row holding a position ends in Close; in Cards view and on a phone it sits in the card's head. While the copier is stopped the rows stay, under the line "Copier stopped. Live positions and P&L show here once you start copying." Money and counts read 0 rather than a dash; a dash stays only where a zero would be wrong, such as an average price with no position, or a position while the copier is stopped. Before anything is set up, the desk shows the one step that is missing instead, with a button for it (such as Add connection or Add group).

Manage rules opens your copy rules right there, in the same rows: the group's Leader account and Leader instrument, and each follower's Cross order, Sizing, Amount and Max (a small grid on each card). While the copier is stopped they are editable on every row, and an amber save bar appears under the totals as soon as something changes, staying in view at the bottom of the window while you scroll: it counts your unsaved changes, names the tabs holding them, and one Save changes covers every tab, with Discard beside it. A changed field turns white with a dark ring until it is saved. The Follow switch never waits for Save. While copying runs the rule fields are greyed, and Follow and Close stay live (an account the group does not hold yet joins only while the copier is stopped). Hide rules puts them away again; nothing you have not saved is lost. At the bottom of the page, Order history is one collapsed line with today's fill count, plus today's rejects and failures in red; open it for the All, Fills, Copies, Rejected and Failed tabs, search and reload. It remembers whether you left it open.

On your phone

Below 720px wide, the sidebar becomes a slide-out drawer (the menu button at the top left opens it) and a bottom tab bar carries the primary pages: Desk, Accounts and Risk, then More, which opens the drawer with every other page, Overview and the Journal included. Your copy rules open on the Desk, from the same Manage rules button, with the save bar above the tab bar. The drawer also shows the market clock at its top. The top bar keeps the MirrorFill logo, the engine pill, the Notifications bell and your avatar menu; the theme switch and the help center are in the avatar menu. Start copying, Stop and Flatten all sit in the dock above the tab bar on the Desk tab. It's the same app. The few things a phone leaves out, such as the open-positions chip and the table's column list, are named where they come up.

Until your plan is active the tab bar reads just Overview and More, with no engine pill or bell in the top bar, and the Overview page ends with links to the help center, the FAQ, contact and the legal pages (plus Manage cookies where the cookie banner is in use). Settings and the other pages are not open yet, so that row is where those links live; it stays on Overview afterwards too.

The Trade Desk answers both questions a trading day asks: "what is open right now, and what do I want to do about it?" and "is the copier healthy?", which the engine pill in the topbar answers in one word. Overview is where you set up and, once it is switched on, where your Weekly Review lands, not a second dashboard.

Quick answers

Where do I start and stop the copier?

In the topbar, on every page: the button right beside the engine pill. It controls one engine: your own copier. On a phone, use the dock above the tab bar on the Desk tab.

Why is the market clock in Chicago time?

CME Globex runs on Central Time, and the session boundaries move with Chicago's daylight saving. A fixed offset would drift twice a year.

What does Flatten all leave behind?

An armed kill switch: the engine is up, but it places nothing until you press Resume copying.
